My journey with Psychology studies started in Brazil, my home country, and continued throughout the years as I relocated to Ireland and later, to the United States. I’ve been exposed to many different schools of thought during my academic experiences and I’ve landed in an integrative way of approaching therapy that encompasses both abstract constructs and very concrete bodily manifestations of our psyche.
I am passionate about the encounters of people from different cultures and ethnicities, what we share in common, how we differ, and how we respond to these requests. I appreciate supporting clients who are going through acculturation processes (due to immigration, first/second generation, etc) and partnering in their path of learning how to be a heterogeneous person who holds values and beliefs from different origins.
I have worked in many different settings such as school-based services, older adults clinic, pro-bono clinic, non-profit agencies, and private practice, offering group, individual, and couple’s therapy.
I am curious about hard-to-answer questions, ultimate concerns of life (i.e., death, freedom, existential isolation, and meaninglessness) and I believe in finding creative ways - and inviting creativity - to sustain the challenging task that is to live. I found in Existential/Humanistic approaches a language that speaks to my core as a therapist and a way to meet people where they’re at. I am also very influenced by Gestalt therapy and other somatic approaches, holding a holistic point of view. Considering all those influences, in the therapy room, I aim to provide a non-judgmental and safe environment where people get to express themselves as they are in the moment. I'm here to be with you through challenging and disruptive seasons.
